Palm City Map
Palm City is located just west of Stuart and is surrounded by lots of waterways. Â This wonderful town has a history dating back as far as 1912 when Charles Chillingworth first bought the land where Palm City would rise.
Chillingworth’s sales tactics were a success and he offered a free acre of town parcel to anyone who bought land. People were purchasing this land, packing up and moving to Florida in the hope of starting a new life.
Palm City grew slowly but steadily and by 1940 became a major center of the cut flower industry, chrysanthemums, roses, and lilies were shipped all across the nation.
Today Palm City is popular with families and gives a suburban living feeling and with many beautiful green spaces and parks.
Leighton Park on the St Lucie River offers a playground, picnic tables, fishing, boat ramps, gills, and scenic walking trails. The sprawling Lance Corporal Justin Wilson Memorial Park offers residents four playgrounds, an observation tower, nature trails, numerous sporting fields, tennis courts, racquet ball, and picnic tables.
Martin County has access to many choices of fine dining with enticing flavors and mouth-watering selections. The nightlife is packed with entertainment, local music, karaoke, dancing and events. Martin County is also home to 28 world class golf courses.
